All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As an Asset Protection & Safety Manager, this means:

• Helping Store Operational Leadership team ensure associates are delivering friendly, professional, timely service to all customers who shop the store
• Monitoring receiving, shipping, and selling patterns for assigned store.
• Championing initiatives and establishing processes and controls that improve safety/hazmat, shrink, and security outcomes.

The Asset Protection & Safety Manager (APSM) oversees and coordinates programs and processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. This associate monitors and solves for criminal activities, coaches and trains associates, and oversees inventory levels to help with shrink and shortages. The APSM may need to respond to violent altercations to keep customers and staff safe. The Asset Protection & Safety Manager is seen as an expert on safety reports, guidelines, and regulations. Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.

Team Leadership:

• Consults Store Operational Leadership, in relation to Asset Protection, on performance issues and objectives for assigned store.
• Completes prescribed tasks in management systems (e.g., incident reports, focus lists, rack inspections).
• Develops and aligns tactical plans with Asset Protection and business strategy to impact short- and long-term goals.
• Coaches and empowers team members to resolve issues and influence the implementation and execution of control corrections.
• Examines, streamlines, and develops innovative work flows and processes within the Asset Protection team.
• Partners with Store Operational Leadership to communicate, follow up, and provide visibility to compliance trainings related to asset protection and safety.
• Provides feedback to store management on audit/inspection findings and opportunities for improvement.

Customer Service

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Helps ensure associates have the tools and resources needed to provide exceptional SMART customer service.
• Holds associates accountable and takes action to coach associates in meeting the needs of customers and showing appreciation. • Negotiates effectively for the organization with internal and external stakeholders and builds relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration.

In-stock / Clean and Safe Stores

• Establishes plans, processes, and controls that minimize inventory shrink and foster a safe working and shopping environment.
• Monitors and investigates operational shrinkage to prevent loss of stock, product, or inventory by gathering data and reviewing shrinkage reports and receiving/selling patterns.
• Conducts hazardous materials inspections and general safety (e.g., daily safety, hazmat) inspections to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and policies (e.g., OSHA, corporate safety guidelines, local regulations).
• Analyzes incident trends and uses data to inform preventative solutions and techniques that minimize accidents.
• Trains employees on the handling of hazardous materials, safety and lifting guidelines, and how to control internal, external, and operational shrink.
• Detects, deters, and investigates violations of company policies and criminal activities (monitors video surveillance systems, obtains evidence, takes statements, and writes case reports), sometimes in collaboration with other investigative entities.
• Ensures shoplifters are apprehended in accordance to company policies and procedures, and according to Federal and State laws related to security an Asset Protection. In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned.
